MBSJ introduces Smart Sensor Awareness (SENSA), a smart pedestrian detection and warning system based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to strengthen the level of safety of road users, especially in high-risk areas such as school environments.
This system is able to automatically detect the presence of pedestrians and activate real-time audio and visual warnings to drivers and pedestrians. It is also equipped with 24-hour camera monitoring as a security and crime prevention measure.

SENSA integrates AI-powered smart cameras, horn speakers and blue LED light bars as clear and effective visual signals to increase road user awareness.
As a pilot project, this system has been installed at the pedestrian crossing in front of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puchong Permai and will be gradually expanded to other strategic locations within the MBSJ administrative area.

Its implementation using solar energy is in line with the aspirations of Smart City development and the commitment towards low-carbon cities.
